BEWARE
Back in July I had a tyre fitted by The Bling Company after having a flat tyre and asking for a like for like tyre to replace it. I was towed to the garage by another mechanic and before he unloaded my car he checked they could change my tyre, as he was happy to tow me elsewhere if needed. They changed my tyre and I drove off.
However, when I came to have my WOF done at the start of September, they told me that they have fitted a completely different tyre to my previous and also a rotational rather than directional tyre. This consequently made me fail my WOF and I had to pay around $350 for a further new tyre to replace it.
I rang up The Bling Company to querie why they had not informed me a different tyre would be being fitted (which would need replacing as rotational and directional tyres cannot be mixed on the same axel). It not only took me 6 phone calls over a month time period to get an answer (as they repeatedly said they would get back to me and did not) but they were also very condescending stating repeatedly I’d clearly just not understood what they had told me. There were 4 people there with me, one being a mechanic who had ‘not understood’ when they had supposedly told me. I have also being told since that if they are putting an incorrect tyre on which needs to be replaced (due to it being an emergency situation) it should be documented on the invoice which it is clearly not.
It was very disappointing to receive this service both at the time and then to receive no resolution when I informed them of the situation.
