Visit Stardome Observatory & Planetarium day or night, rain or shine, to experience the wraparound sky and special effects inside this unique New Zealand observatory and planetarium.
Constructed and opened in 1997 on One Tree Hill Domain, Stardome has catered to regular public viewings in both the evening and daytime ever since. See the Universe recreated in front of your eyes from the comfort of your reclining seat inside the Planetarium theatre, day or night, rain or shine. Incredible digital projections of stars and planets come to life on the giant domed screen above you with beautiful clarity.
They also provide telescopes for public viewing outside Stardome every night, subject to suitable sky conditions, except on Monday evenings when Stardome is closed. Telescopes are complimentary after the 7pm, 8pm and 9pm shows over winter and after the 8pm and 9pm shows over summer. Courtyard telescopes are operated by experienced staff who can show you beautiful stars, planets, star clusters and nebulae.
On top of regular viewings and shows, Stardome offers excellent Auckland venue hire and is a popular site for events such as birthday parties, fundraising, Christmas parties and other business/corporate events.
