The New Railway Hotel is a Palmerston North icon. Established in 1904 the New Railway Hotel has been home to hundreds of travellers and long term stays over the years. Having been refurbished to include all the modern comforts that travellers expect, while retaining its historic feel, The New Railway Hotel is a backpacker hostel with a difference. Still offering both short and long term options, it combines convenience and comfort with honest Kiwi hospitality. The hotel is now run by the affable, well-travelled Garry, who has an extensive background in the hotel industry, and is knowledgeable about all things related to New Zealand travel and tourism.
