Had an interesting experience this afternoon with immature staff at High Country Snow and Outdoors. I bought skis for my daughter but intended to buy new boots so did not get the bindings until I had come back to get new boots. A month went by and I returned today after a two hour drive with the intention to buy boots for the children and skis for myself - I thought I could get the binding sorted out properly at the same time. Got welcomed in the shop with... these skies have not been bought here, the binding is not common, the skies are looking like second hand. Funny, how can you ski without a binding. After twenty minutes waiting and trying to fit different boots on- the two staff emerged and informed me that they cannot do anything - they will discuss the binding with their supplier at the end of next week. I was not happy with this as the rest of the binding should be in the shop, why have they been selling these skies then. I asked if I could speak to the manager and got told that she had her day off and they wouldn't interrupt her day with this issue. Interesting- five minutes before I got told that they spoke with the manager. I pointed this out and got told to leave the shop - I couldn't see a reason as I bought the skis in this shop and want my child to ski on them this week. I'm not happy to rent skis for a week skiing with my children when I have a new pair sitting in this shop and have to wait nearly ten days for an answer - again got told to leave the shop as they will be closing at five o'clock. Interesting, opening hours are advertised to 5:30pm and it was 5:10pm . I was disappointed with the attitude of the staff, they could easily check the records to find the purchase transaction through Farmlands. As mentioned both staff gave the impression that they didn't believe that these skies have been bought in the shop and did not want to release the binding. I had walked in the door to spend over $1000 on ski gear for myself and my children. In general High Country Snow and Outdoors is a great shop and I have been a customer with them for nearly twenty years however it seems a new generation of sales personal has emerged.
